Welcome to Pyrmont
Napier, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand

Pyrmont was formerly located in the Esk valley of Hawkes Bay, a short distance from Napier, set among the vineyards, on a small sheep farming block with an assortment of ducks, turkeys, chucks and peacocks. Chris and Stella have now relocated to Poraiti and swapped the vineyard for an olive grove. Poraiti is on the outskirts of Napier in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand.

Napier is world famous for it's Art Deco architecture, having been rebuilt in the early 1930's following the massive earthquake which destroyed the twin cities of Napier and Hastings, and many other towns on the east coast of the North Island. The area is renowned for it's sunny climate and boasts many orchards and vineyards, in fact is now called "Hawkes Bay Wine Country" and attracts many tourists to it's wineries and various related festivities throughout the year.

Other attractions include the "Mission" concert, and the "Art Deco" weekend, both held in February and the recently developed "Food Trails" which guide visitors around many small producers of fresh, organic gourmet produce, also available at weekly markets. A gannet colony at nearby Cape Kidnappers draws many visitors and the region offers a variety of outdoor sports and experiences to suit all tastes and ages. All this against a panorama of outstanding scenery with vistas from the mountains to the sea.
